Stakeholders

DFCI's members are volunteer silviculturists in charge of preventing forest fires. They equip the forest massif and work in close collaboration with the fire brigade.

Who does what in the prevention and suppression of forest fires in Aquitaine?

DFCI AQUITAINE

E-mail

* Its role is to:
- coordinate work programs;
- offer research and analyses;
- seek out financing;
- represent DFCI at the regional level in communities;
- communicate.

COZ

Southwest regional operations centre

* Its role is to manage rescue operations at the regional and inter-regional levels.

Example: when a fire develops over several departments, it calls for back-up and evaluates what teams and materials are needed.

DFCI DEPARTEMENTALE

* Its role is to:
- coordinate the activity of DFCI associations and inter-communal associations with public authorities;
- act as contractor for DFCI works and facilities.

SDIS

Departmental fire and rescue service

* Its role is to manage operational resources.

 

C.I.S.

Fire and rescue centre

* Its role is to supply operational material and human resources.

DFCI Associations Syndicales Autorisées (ASAs, owners' associations) and Inter-communal associations

* Their role concerns:
- the creation and maintenance of DFCI infrastructures: trails, ditches and bridges, water supply points and boreholes;
- brush clearing;
- map updates;
- fire surveillance.
